Welcome to Fat Kats Artistry!

Fat Kats Artistry was opened in January of 2002 by Christopher Collins on the Downtown Square in Ocala FL.  After an extended fight with the city council and the mayor for the right to be located downtown in which we were conflicting with their "ideal" image of a downtown, we finally received approval to carry on and remain on the square. 

Shortly after opening Chris met Brian Purdy at the shop and within a very short time, they were working together on developing Fat Kats what it is today.  Brian managed the shop while Chris traveled the world looking for interesting jewelry, selling jewelry and meeting with some of the worlds best tattooers and piercers.   This gave Fat Kats the opportunity to bring in world renowned artists like Jime Litwalk, Gunnar, Josh Ford as guest artists to work along side our artists for people to be tattooed by. We still strive to have some of the best artists and piercers in the business guest spot at our shop. * If you're interested in a guest spot please send us an email.


In 2006, Chris started developing a clothing brand named "Steadfast Brand".  After many years of hard work and dedication his brand took off and can be found online and in major retail locations around the world.  This led him to sell the shop in March of 2012 to Brian, who has been the shop manager for the last 10 years.  Fat Kats is fueled with a great crew consisting of Dave Draper, Shawn Cartwright, Jorge Ramirez, Brian Fahey, Tanya Purdy and Danny Ghigliotty.  As a shop we work hard to continue to provide Ocala and the surrounding central Florida areas as well as the nation with the best and up most qualified tattooers and piercers that are available. Fat Kats specializes in all forms of tattooing including realism, portraits, traditional, neo-traditional and new school. We're here to give you the best possible experience you can receive while getting your tattoo, piercing or just to answer any questions that you may have.
